Future Places Festival taking place in Porto

FUTURE PLACES Festival is taking place in Porto, from October 13th-17th. Future Places is an international festival and competition regarding digital media work when applied to specific cultural and social environments. Trying to reach the whole local potential, the Festival spreads through Porto urban areas, reaching different places such as Casa da Música and CC Stop or Maus Hábitos and Passos Manuel and the University of Porto, with several events, such as concerts, conferences, workshops, digital media work presentations, flashmobs and seminars. All together in a free and open-to-all festival, with a major concern – digital media and its impact on locality.

Several names honor FPF09 with their presence, such as Hugh Forrest, Event Director of Interactive Festival in SXSW (South by Southwest), Jon Wozencroft, Director of Touch Records UK, Steven Devleminck, Director of Transmedia Brussels program, Marc Behrens, musician and field recordist, Zach Smith, from Thingiverse project, and Golan Levin, from Carnegie Mellon University.
