Graduates of the animation course win prize at Garunha Fest.

A film by students Dulce Gonçalves and Rodrigo Carvalho, "Spectrum Optical Disorder," recently won the animation category in Gardunha Fest at Fundão. The film uses anaglyphic (red/cyan) 3D glasses to hide and reveal visual elements.

Theirs is one of a number of works produced by students in the Experimental Animation course of the 2012 Digital Media Summer Institute. A selection is available online:

The instructor for the course was Austin animator Jeanne Stern, who had taught in previous editions of the Digital Media Summer Institute and in conjunction with the futureplaces Digital Media Festival.
