Interdisciplinary research,
education and capacity building
30 Oct 2015
Within the activities of the UT Austin | Portugal CoLab Program in Advanced Computing IST will hold an Autumn School (November 9-13, 2015) on Data Driven Computations in the Life Sciences and a one day Workshop (November 12, 2015) on Innovative Modeling Techniques for Predictive Medicine.
The aim of the School and the Workshop is to bring together doctoral candidates, postdoctoral scientists and graduates in applied mathematics, bioengineering and medicine, who wish to be involved in the fascinating research field of computational modeling of physiological problems. This will give the opportunity to make scientific interactions and new connections with established experts in the different topics covered by these events, namely:
Fluid-structure interaction problems in hemodynamics
Reduced models for the cardiovascular system
Geometrical multiscale modeling of the circulatory system
Data assimilation in computational hemodynamics
Isogeometric analysis in Biomechanics
Medical imaging and image processing
Modeling and simulation of inflammation and thrombosis processes
There is no registration fee. Financial support for local expenses is available to graduate and postgraduate students. If you would like to participate, please send an email to jftiago@math.tecnico.ulisboa.pt, with your Curriculum Vitae, Motivation and Recommendation Letters, requested for evaluation.
