Digital Media and M-ITI faculty, Mónica Mendes and Valentina Nisi, chair the 5th Conference on Sustainable Internet and ICT for Sustainability

The event will be will be held December 6-7, 2017 in Funchal, Portugal, and it receives papers in all aspects of Sustainable Internet and ICT, Sustainability through the application of ICT, and Human-Centered technology for sustainability, including works that report on prototype test best and real-world deployments.
Creative and Artistic Interventions
Creative and Artistic Interventions (CAI) is new track at SustainIT 2017 aiming at discovering alternative and innovative approaches to sustainability and technology. Contributions can range from artistic installations to interactive videos or documentary as well as tangible objects or well-developed concepts that involve a creative approach to sustainability issues.

• October 28, 2017: WIP / Demo / PhD Forum acceptance notification
• November 10, 2017: camera-ready version
• December 6-7, 2017: conference
Preparing and Submitting
Anonymity: Papers should NOT be anonymised. Authors are expected to add their names and institutional identity in the title and header of the paper.
Formatting and Length: CAI papers should contain original material and not be previously published, or currently submitted for consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts are limited to two (2) pages and must be formatted in accordance with the IEEE Computer Society conference author guidelines. The IEEE LaTeX and Microsoft Word templates for conferences, as well as related information, can be found at the IEEE website. A third (non-publishable) page with the requirements for the installation or showcase of the work is allowed. A video documentation with at most 2 minutes is also required.
Submission: Papers must be submitted electronically in PDF format through Microsoft CMT, Creative and Artistic Interventions track. It is possible to make changes as many times as necessary before the final submission deadline of October 6, 2017.
Presenting
The CAI track is an annual juried showcase of new creative works that integrate digital technologies, interaction, and sustainability in artistically significant ways. This year, the exhibition will be held at the SustainIT 2017 conference venue, in Funchal, Portugal. The exhibition is open to the public as well as conference participants. The accepted CAI papers will appear in the final conference proceedings. Accepted papers whose authors are not at the conference to present may be removed from the conference proceedings.
